LOGO DESIGN & IDEATION
This project involved the ideation process of designing a new donut start-up, with donut favors range categorized under seven levels of quality. The process of ideation started from the ground up of forming mindmaps and doing market research, to conceptualizing the theme concept. The final work scope involves the designing of the logo, a tri-fold brochure, box and paper bag packaging for the company. The logo design consists of a donut with a clock face featuring the numbers 2, 4 and 7, conveying the message of enjoying the donuts twenty-four seven, in every moment.
PUBLICATION & LAYOUT DESIGN
This quarterly Smart Kids newsletter entitled "The Smart Connection" featured 3 grid columns for easy reading, with colourful elements strategically placed. The title word 'smart' was given a pictorial puzzle treatment and smartly associated as one letter for each page of this 5 pages issue.
ILLUSTRATION DESIGN & SKETCH ART
These two marketing posters for My Smart Baby Pte Ltd were conceptualized with design elements alluding to graphic design styles of past eras, mainly the Beggarstaffs era from 1860-1919 (right/bottom) and Pop Art era from 1960-1969 (far right/bottom). The techniques used involved sketches and photo manipulation using Photoshop and Illustrator softwares.
PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY
My many years of photography exposure beginning from the film era to the digital age imbued in me the knowledge and understanding of the trinity of photography, mainly the three important aspects of aperture, shutter speed and ISO. This ultimately paved the way for me to capture shots of subjects in their full brilliance, as well as winning shot that is interesting and captivating (left/bottom).
Video editing techniques are done through fundamental video editing software, which appeal to the audience, as can be seen here in this video clip (right/bottom).
WEB/APP DESIGN & GAME DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
The importance of conceptualizing the design flow is addressed through the use of wire-framing for mobile application, as well as web and game development. The game development process involves setting up menus and instructions for the complete gameplay experience.
3D DESIGN/ANIMATION AND 3D INTERIOR DESIGN
The concept plane featuring hybrid propeller system is realized through 3D design and rendering, allowing a clear prototype to be visually examined and ultimately be manufactured. 3D design software such as Blender can assist designers to achieve that (left/bottom).
The interior design for a pre-school learning environment was designed firstly in 2D plain layout, and then moving to isometric 3D space for realism, all done through the illustrator software (right/bottom).
